Home School Association
HSA MISSION STATEMENT
The OLV School Home School Association is a supportive division of the school. Under the auspices of the Diocese of Metuchen, the HSA supports the established policy and curriculum of the school. The HSA nurtures spiritual growth by working with parents and teachers to convey the messages of the Gospel through community-building events and classroom activities. Helping to promote a faith-filled environment, the HSA provides organization in assisting the school and parish with meeting their financial responsibilities, publicizing newsworthy happenings and voicing concerns to our local and state representatives.
HSA VISION STATEMENT
The OLV School Home School Association supports the school, students, teachers and administrator in an effort to sustain the mission of the school: provide an educational environment which fosters the spiritual, intellectual and emotional attributes of the child.
RESPECT FOR SCHOOL POLICIES
The HSA respects the established school policies and practices as set forth by the Diocesan Schools Office, the pastor and the school principal. In all instances, the Association shall be aware that it functions as a support to the duly constituted school administrator. It provides support by promoting the mission statement, goals and objectives of the school.

Responsibilities of HSA Officers
The routine work of the Home School Association is dependent upon two groups: the Officers of the Association and parent volunteers. The officers agree to manage the Association by carrying out certain prescribed duties below.
President: Presides at all meetings of the Association and Executive Committee; coordinates the work of the Officers and committees; with the Principal sets the agenda for general and executive committee meetings; serves on the School Advisory Council
Vice President: Assumes the duties of the President in his/her absence.
Recording Secretary: Records and makes available to the members copies of the Minutes of the Executive Committee and general meetings; maintains a binder of Minutes of these meetings.
Corresponding Secretary: Conducts the print and e-mail correspondence of the Association; maintains a file of reports and correspondence.
Treasurer: Collects and deposits all monies received through fund raising; maintains records of all receipts and expenditures; reviews and recommends payment of bills to the President and Principal; provides written monthly cash accounting at the general membership meetings; prepares and signs checks to be co-signed by the pastor or the principal.
Principal: Is a member of the Executive Committee and approves of all events that the Home School Association chooses to sponsor; must co-sign all check requisitions.
Pastor: All activities of the Home School Association are performed with the permission of the pastor. He or the principal must co-sign all checks.
